It feels like everyday there is some new AI advancement, it's quite hard to keep up!
Yesterday a new version of GPT-3 was released. Before that, it was Stable Diffusion 2.0, and the week before that, Midjourney v4 and the DALLE-2 API.
I'm in quite a unique position where I can gauge which AI models are popular and producing the best images at any one time based on PromptBase submissions.
Hands down, right now, I feel Midjourney v4 is leaps and bounds ahead any other model at producing consistent, usable images from prompts.
DALL-E 2 once held this crown, but it's popularity seems to have waned recently, which is kinda sad - it was the OG!
