Last week was my brother's stag-do, where we hiked a 70km stretch of the Jotunheimen trail outside of Norway over 3 days.
It was very fun, but it's meant not much work!
This was the first trip in 10 years probably where I didn't bring a laptop with me, which felt very strange (I wanted minimal weight on my back).
I had some mild panic that PromptBase would break, but it's pretty automated now and everything held strong.
I've been scarred about not travelling with a laptop ever since I flew back from Australia 3 years ago.
On that 20 hour flight, when I landed and finally opened my laptop, I noticed tons of new sales - yay!
But, as I slowly realised sat in Arrivals, it was actually a huge fraudulent credit card testing attack that the site was totally unprepared for.
I spent 24 stressful, jet-lagged hours refunding, talking with terrible Stripe customer support, and building defences, all whilst neglecting my family who I'd not seen in ages!
I was terrified Stripe would shut down PromptBase automatically because of high dispute rates, and that would be the end.
This experience is another reason why I'm building Zoneless. Stripe is a huge single point of failure for a lot of businesses if they decide to cut you off on a whim.
Just knowing you have another option you can easily switch to brings a lot of peace of mind.
