Introducing Zoneless, my new project

It’s like Stripe Connect, but free, open-source and uses USDC (a stablecoin) for ultra-low ~$0.002 payout fees.

When I say it's like Stripe, it's almost identical - you just change the imports in your code:

Since starting PromptBase (and growing it to almost half a million users now!), I’ve spent a good chunk of time deep in the weeds of marketplace payouts to sellers.

To do this I’ve used Stripe Connect. It’s a great product, but it has some issues:

Expensive + confusing fees: $2/mo per active account, 0.25% + $0.25 domestic payout fees, $1.50 international payout fees, 0.25–1.25% cross-border fees, 0.50–1% FX fees... I was burning $9,400+/mo in fees at the peak.
Only supports around 47 countries.
Payouts take 2-7 days to settle.
It’s a massive single point of failure if your account gets randomly flagged.

Zoneless is designed to solve all this:

Self-hostable and open-source

I’ve been using it on PromptBase for the past 3 months with 2,200+ sellers onboarded, 1,400+ payouts completed, and 73% of creators choosing it over Stripe (my payout costs are also now near-zero).

So today I’m launching it publicly for free as a standalone product. I’ve not launched a new project in a while, so I’m a little scared!

Elephant in the room: I appreciate that anything related to crypto is like Marmite (pretty polarizing); I’m a no-coiner and have never dabbled in NFTs, but I do think stablecoins are different: they’re just boring tech to move money around cheaply.
